Champ Camp is held June, in Oregon, every year to teach technicians the proper means of collecting habitat and topographic data to support management decisions related to Salmonid species of fish in the Columbia River Basin.
My role is to teach the collection of topographic data and to support the collection process throughout the season. I also monitor collection results for QA/QC and develop means of monitoring said results.
Camp Day One:
Day one is an introduction to the program. What we do and why we do it!
Notice the Title of this Presentation by Professor Joe Wheaton: How do you account for fish habitat with a total station? |
Day One afternoon we travel to local streams to begin familiarizing folks with the environment they will be working in and the data they will be collecting.
Why are we all Here?......... For the FISH.
